Rest in Fear is a six-piece melodic death metal band from Graz , Styria , Austria .
history
Rest in Fear was founded in 2007 as an experimental band project. Little by little, the musicians came together in the current line-up through their two releases Insert Yourself (LP, 2011, self-produced) and Shallows Deep (LP, 2014, G Minor Records ).
The band received international attention as a semi-finalist at the Austrian Band Contest 2011 and as the opening act of the main stage at the MetalDays -Festival 2014. In 2015 the band was nominated for the Amadeus Austrian Music Award in the "Hard & Heavy" category.
style
The band uses elements from different Death Metal and Progressive Metal styles in their music, accompanied by catchy keyboard and guitar hooklines. In terms of text, the band deals with socio-political issues in a conceptual way.
