Retkinia is a high-rise building - settlement in Łódź . It is one of the largest high-rise developments in Europe. The settlement was established between 1972 and 1985 on the territory of former villages.

  • The settlement is 4–4.5 km² in size
  • Population: around 80,000–90,000
  • Population per km²: approx. 18,000–20,000

Retkinia is located in the southwest of Łódź. In Retkinia there are many apartment blocks and high-rise buildings, 12 schools, two indoor swimming pools and four churches.

Next to Retkinia is the Józef Piłsudski Park , the largest park in Łódź (also one of the largest parks in Europe). In it are the zoological and botanical gardens, an amusement park, the Polesie Konstantynowskie reserve .

The Łódź Władysław Reymont Airport is located near Retkinia .
