Reto Diezi

Reto Diezi (* 1949 in Zurich ) is a former Swiss sprinter.

Career

In 1968 Diezi set a Swiss record in the 50-meter run with 5.7 seconds in the hall. A year later he set the Swiss open-air record in the 100-meter run with 10.2 seconds, which Hansruedi Wiedmer had set in 1968. In 1971 the Swiss 4 x 100 meter relay with Marcel Kempf , Diezi, Fabrizio Pusterla and Peter Hölzle in Geneva improved the Swiss record to 39.9 s. In the next few years Diezi was part of the squadron of LC Zurich , which improved the club record four times from 1972 to 1974. On August 16, 1974, the Zurich team's relay also beat the 40-second limit with 39.90 seconds. Behind Marcel Kempf and Reto Diezi were Peter Muster and Erol Yanku . In 1973 Diezi won the title of Swiss champion in the 100-meter run. After his career as a sprinter, he was a bobsleigh driver for the Davos team for two years . He trained on the St. Moritz bobsleigh run.
