The Zurich Athletics Club (abbreviated LCZ ) is the largest athletics club in the city of Zurich .

In 1922, 26 members of FC Zurich founded the FCZ athletics section. A year later, 61 members of the TV Old Section Zurich (ASZ) joined. In 1934 the athletes separated from the FCZ and from then on called themselves LC Zurich.

In 2004 the LCZ had 871 members. With 147 licensed athletes, the LCZ ranks first among the Swiss athletics clubs.

Field handball

The LC Zurich played from 1956 to 1962 and 1965 in the National League A in field handball.

They were three times champion in the National League B : 1955 , 1964 , 1971

In the Grossfeld Cup they came second in the 1958 season .
