Reuben Epp

Reuben Epp (* 1920 in Canada ; † June 20, 2009 ) is a Plautdietscher author who last lived in Kelowna ( British Columbia ) . His parents were Mennonites immigrated from Russia . After training as a mechanic, Epp became a vocational school teacher and later director of a technical school in Dawson Creek (also British Columbia). Among the Russian mennonites scattered around the world, Reuben Epp is, alongside Arnold Dyck and Jack Thiessen, the best-known poet and narrator in the Plautdietian language. His publications on Plautdiet's language history and orthography are among his special achievements. Reuben Epp is called "Ruben Ap" in Plautdietsch.
