The Reuzenlied (also Reuze Lied , "giant song "), French: L'air du Reuze or L'air de Geant , is a folk song of the Flemish Carnival that is popular in Flanders and Brabant .
It is played at the giant parades there during the carnival. The giant himself appears in the Dunkirk and Cassel parades .
In the historical circulation area that today extends over France , Belgium and the Netherlands , it is also a popular children's song , the text of which there is a French version and several variants of a Flemish / Dutch version.
The tune also sounds every quarter to the hour from the carillon of the Belfry of Dunkirk across the city.
