Alphonse Constant Reyrolle (* 1864 in Juillac (Corrèze) , † 1919 ) was a French electrical engineer and entrepreneur.

Alphonse Constant Reyrolle

His parents were Martial and Marie Faye.

In 1883 Reyrolle went to England and initially worked as an instrument maker for Jean Lege. In 1886 he founded his own small company in London and built electrical assemblies and control cabinets. Charles Hesterman Merz (1874-1940) advised him that his future lay in the north of England and so he founded A. Reyrolle and Company Ltd in 1901 in Hebburn -on-Tyne, County Durham . With two stores too inefficient, the London branch was soon closed and all work moved to Hebburn. In 1905/06 Henry Clothier joined the company and invented the metal switch cabinet here. When the company flourished in 1919 and had 1,000 employees, he died.
