Reza Davari Ardakani

Reza Davari Ardakani ( Persian رضا داوری اردکانی, DMG Reza Davarī Ardakanī ; * 1933 in Ardakan ) is an Iranian philosopher .

Life

Davari's philosophical thinking is considered to be influenced by Martin Heidegger . He is known for his criticism of Western culture.

He was dean of the Faculty of Literature at Tehran University and from 1979 to 1982 chairman of the Iranian National Commission for UNESCO . Davari was the editor-in-chief of the Farhang Journal . Since 1998 he has been the director of the Iranian Academy of Sciences .
