Rhaeticus is an impact crater on the front of the moon on the southern edge of the Sinus Medii , south of the Triesnecker crater . The rim of the crater is badly eroded, the inside uneven.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the German mathematician and astronomer Georg Joachim Rhaeticus .
