Triesnecker Crater ( Lunar Orbiter 4 )
Triesnecker is a 25 km large, very deep moon crater in the Sinus Medii , an almost crater-free basalt plain in the middle of the visible half of the moon.

- named after the Austrian Jesuit and astronomer Franz de Paula Triesnecker (1745–1817)
Triesnecker has a sharp, regular crater wall and is hardly eroded. Near its eastern edge, a system of grooves runs in a northerly direction, the Rimae Triesnecker .
