The transmitter Marburg is a transmitter of the Hessischer Rundfunk on the Klamberg at an altitude of 372 meters, which is located east of the Marburg urban area on the Lahn Mountains . In the immediate vicinity (approx. 50 m to the south) is the city's observation tower, which is popularly known as the mirror pleasure tower .
A 40 meter high lattice mast , which was erected in 1956, serves as the antenna carrier . The transmitter served as a television converter for Das Erste , ZDF and hr-fernsehen . TV broadcasting was discontinued in the course of the introduction of DVB-T and the corresponding antennas have since been dismantled. In the first half of the 1980s, the radio programs hr3 and hr1 began to be broadcast on the VHF frequencies 93.9 MHz and 102.0 MHz. In 1986 the hr1 frequency was initially changed to 102.8 MHz and transferred to the then new hr4 program in October of that year . In January 2007 a third VHF frequency, 98.5 MHz, was added for hr-info . On December 1, 2015 this frequency changed to hr2 .
The Marburg telecommunications tower is located around 1100 m north of the Marburg transmitter .
