Rheingold is a cultivar of the cultivated apple ( Malus domestica ). The summer apple was bred in Germany from the parent varieties Anton Fischer and James Grieve .

On an intense yellow base color there is a slightly red top color. The apple is comparatively aromatic.

Rheingold can be harvested in August.

The apple was grown near Koblenz , and it is mainly grown in the Rhineland .
