history

In 1974 the Carolus Magnus wind instruments were founded. Some of the musicians separated and founded the Ingelheimer Kaiserpfalz Bläser. In 1990, the association Carolus Magnus Ingelheimer Kaiserpfalz Bläser eV emerged from both groups

Between 1996 and 2006, Peter Vierneisel led the formation and developed it into a symphonic wind orchestra, which has been called the Rheinhessische Bläserphilharmonie since 2002 . Since June 2006 the RBP has been under the management of Stefan Grefig. The musicians come from the Mainz / Ingelheim area.

Musical work

The development of original works of symphonic wind music and transcriptions as well as the collaboration with soloists are the focus of the orchestra's work. The cello concerto by Friedrich Gulda was performed with Jan Hendrik Rübel from the NDR Radio Orchestra Hanover . In addition, the RBP also worked with the trombonist in the RSO Stuttgart Frank Szathmáry-Filipitsch .

The orchestra organizes annual concerts in Stadecken-Elsheim with around 1000 listeners. In addition to tours at home and abroad, there were radio appearances and the recording of sound carriers. At the International Music Days Vöcklabruck / Austria 2004, the CD "Contrasts" was awarded as the best sound carrier. In 2010, the RBP won the competition in the highest level at the Landesmusikfest in Metzingen as the orchestra with the best points. One year later the orchestra won the category B1 wind orchestra of the Rhineland-Palatinate State Orchestra Competition. This qualified her for participation in the 2012 German Orchestra Competition in Hildesheim, where she then took 3rd place.

Musical youth work

In addition to working on symphonic wind music, instrumental and orchestral training for young people is another focus of the association's work. Approx. 60 children and young people learn a wind instrument or percussion in the club's own music school and are introduced to and trained in orchestral playing in several youth orchestras under the direction of Daniel Klocker. The youth orchestras were able to record competition successes, among others at BW-Musix.
