Rheinstrasse 1 (Mariaweiler)

The Rheinstrasse 1 building is in the Mariaweiler district of Düren in North Rhine-Westphalia .

The former switch house with a fitter's apartment is on the corner of Rheinstrasse and Kupfermühle. It was built around 1925.

It is an angular two-storey brick building with a gable roof . The entrance situation is across the corner with a flight of stairs and a portico . Elaborately designed brick decorative inlays can be seen in the building walls. The window frames are made of artificial stone. The windows are all modern , with the exception of a small triangular window in the gable . Overall, the entire complex with the enclosure, the garden and the small outbuildings is still well preserved.

The building is registered under No. 9/009 in the list of monuments of the city of Düren.
