Rhemen to Barensfeld is the name of one of Westphalia originating noble family .

history

The family Rhemen zu Barensfeld (also Barnsfeld ) comes from the family von Bermentfelde or Barnsfeld (= Velen ) from the Münsterland, where as early as 1281 a Gerhard dictus Werence called de Lon, de Bermentvelde was mentioned as a knight.

The Rhemen zu Barensfeld family was first mentioned in 1311 as the feudal lords and owners of Wilkinghege Castle . After the sale (1390) it came back into possession of the entire property (1779) by inheritance, which was only sold in 1955.

On June 15, 1613, a Johann von Rhemen zum Barnsfeld prescribed a pension for Johann Leffting.

One branch of the family moved to Austria.
