Life

Adolf von Rhemen came from the Westphalian noble family Rhemen zu Barensfeld . He was the son of Everd von Rhemen and his wife Katharina von Rhede. First mentioned on August 14, 1410 as a canon of Münster, on July 27, 1450 he joined the protest against the appointment of Walram von Moers as bishop, whose election led to the Münster collegiate feud . The city of Münster guaranteed Adolf indemnification. Nevertheless, Walram von Moers banned him on August 16, 1451 . The canons Hermann Droste zu Vischering , Hugo von Schagen and Heinrich Korff called Schmising , who belonged to the protest movement, suffered the same fate.
