Way of life

The beetles can be found on various toadflax ( Linaria ) such as toadflax ( Linaria vulgaris ), striped toadflax ( Linaria repens ), Linaria saxatilis and Linaria loeselii . The overwintering beetles can be observed from the end of April / beginning of May. The eggs are laid between mid-May and mid-July. The females make holes in the host plants' roots in which they lay their eggs. The larvae , which go through three stages, develop in the roots and these form galls .
