Rhipsalis triangularis is a species of plant in the genus Rhipsalis from the cactus family(Cactaceae).

description

Rhipsalis triangularis grows lithophytically with richly branched shoots of limited growth and reaches a length of 0.5 to 1 meter. The olive-green, three- to four-sided, rarely pentagonal, stiff, succulent shoots are pointed at their base. Its tip is trimmed. They are 6 to 24 centimeters long and 1 to 3 millimeters in diameter (rarely up to 5 millimeters). The areoles are covered with bristles.

The white flowers appear individually or up to three from an areole and reach a diameter of 15 to 25 millimeters. The spherical, bare fruits are magenta to pale pink in color.

Systematics and distribution

Rhipsalis triangularis is common in the Brazilian state of Rio de Janeiro on the island mountains on the coast .

It was first described in 1937 by Erich Werdermann .
