Rhythm instrument

A musical instrument that is mainly used for playing rhythms is called a rhythm instrument . These are mainly all types of percussion instruments , such as drums and rattles . But other instruments can also be used as rhythm instruments.

When guitars or similar instruments are used to accompany songs with chords , they are also called rhythm instruments . A bass instrument can also serve as a rhythm instrument.

Internationally known are the instruments of classical music and that of Orff's school work, the rhythm instruments of Latin American music . These include claves (Rumba wood), maracas (maracas), Chocalho , Chocallo or Tubo (shaker), guiro or Güiro ( "cucumber") and cowbell or Cencerro (cowbell).
