Ri Tae-nam

Ri Tae-nam (* 1938 ; † 2013 ) was a North Korean politician from the Labor Party of Korea (PdAK) who was Vice-Chairman of the Council of Ministers between 2010 and 2011. He was also a candidate for the Politburo of the Central Committee of the PdAK and a member of the Central Committee of the PdAK.

Life

Ri Tae-nam became First Secretary of the Party Committee of the State Refinery in Kaesŏng in 1978 and First Secretary of the Party Committee of the State Iron and Steel Works in Chollima-guyok , a district of Namp'o . In 1987 he took over the post of first secretary of the Chollima-guyok district committee and, at the same time, chairman of the Chollima-guyok People's Committee. On April 22, 1990 he was elected for the first time to the Deputy Supreme People's Assembly, of which he was a member until his death in 2013. In 1992 he was Chairman of the Administrative and Economic Committee of Nampho and after 1996 First Secretary of the Party Committee of the province of South Hamgyong Province (South Hamgyŏng) and held this position until 2003. During the 10th legislative period between 1998 and 2003 he was also a member of the budget committee of the Supreme People's Assembly.

In 2003, Ri took over the function of First Secretary of the Party Committee of the P'yŏngan-namdo (P'yŏngan) Province and held this post until 2010. He then served as Vice-Chairman of the Council of Ministers between 2010 and 2011. On the III. At the Conference of the Labor Party of Korea , he was elected on September 28, 2010 as a candidate for the Politburo of the Central Committee and a member of the Central Committee of the PdAK, and was a member of these bodies until his death.
