Steven G. Spruill

Steven Gregory Spruill (born April 20, 1946 in Battle Creek , Michigan ) is an American writer and psychologist. He is best known as the author of science fiction and horror novels, in which psychological aspects often play a role.

Life

Spruill first studied biology at Andrews University in Berrien Springs , where he made his bachelor's degree in 1968 . In 1969 he married Nancy Lyon and worked from 1969 to 1973 as a biotechnician at Hazleton Laboratories in Falls Church , Virginia . He then studied psychology at the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC , where he graduated with a master's degree in 1979 and received his doctorate in clinical psychology in 1981. From 1979 to 1980 he worked at the Mt. Vernon Community Health Center in Alexandria , Virginia. He has been a freelance writer since 1981.
