Richard von Weizsäcker Journalist Prize

The Richard von Weizsäcker Journalist Prize of the Unionhilfswerk Foundation has been awarded since 2006 in honor of the politician Richard von Weizsäcker, who died in 2015, for journalistic contributions that deal in a special way with the topics of dying , death and mourning .

The prize of the Unionhilfswerk Foundation, based in Berlin , is awarded every two years by an independent jury chaired by the former EKD council chairman Wolfgang Huber . It is endowed with a total of 10,000 euros: for the 1st prize 5,000 euros, for the 2nd prize 3,000 euros and for the 3rd prize 2,000 euros.
