Richard Übelhör

Richard Übelhör (born July 4, 1901 in Vienna ; † September 15, 1977 there ) was an Austrian urologist .

Richard Übelhör became a secondary doctor at the Rudolfstiftung Hospital after studying medicine . From 1928 to 1937 he was a surgeon and assistant at the surgical university clinics in Graz and Vienna, then he became chief professor of the urological department at the Lainz hospital . In 1938 he completed his habilitation in surgery. After the " Anschluss of Austria " he was relieved of his functions and worked as a military doctor during World War II . After the war ended in 1945 he was appointed associate professor, then in 1967 full professor. Among his scientific publications is his contribution on kidney surgery in Kirchner-Nordmanns HandbuchKnown to the surgery .
