Richard Batz

Richard Batz (born August 23, 1894 in Essen ; † March 10, 1965 ) was a German architect and politician ( RSF , FSU ).

Life

Richard Batz attended elementary school and then completed an office training at the Essen Building Department. After another apprenticeship in bricklaying and carpentry, he attended the Royal State Building School in Essen. After working in various architectural offices and as a district construction manager at the Essen Treuhandstelle für Bergmannswohnungen (Treuhandstelle für Bergmannswohnungen) , he started his own business in 1925 with offices in Essen and Düsseldorf.

In 1920 Batz came into contact with Silvio Gesell's free economics apprenticeship and became its committed supporter. From 1922 to 1925 he was appointed managing director of the West German regional association of the German Free Trade Association. In 1925 he took over the chairmanship of the Fisiocratic Combat League , which he held until its dissolution by the National Socialists in 1933. From 1933 to 1934 he was also chairman of the WÄRA Association.

After the Second World War , Batz was one of the founders of the free- economy- oriented Radical Social Freedom Party and became its first chairman. In 1948 he was also appointed Vice President of the International Free Economic Union . From 1950 to 1952 Batz was federal chairman of the Free Social Union , which arose from the merger of the RSF with other free-economic organizations.
