Richard Baumann (skeleton pilot)
Richard Baumann is a former German skeleton rider .
Richard Baumann was one of the most successful German skeleton pilots in the second half of the 1980s and the first 1990s. The highlight of his career was winning the German championship title in 1992. In 1987, 1988 and 1990 Baumann was runner-up, and in 1991 he was third. He started in the Skeleton World Cup and was able to place himself there several times in the points, including in the top ten. At the 1989 World Championships in St. Moritz , he finished seventh and in 1991 in Igls eighth.
