building

It consists of an 87 meter high skyscraper tower with a twisted head structure and two 28 meter high side buildings, some of which are elevated. The high-rise has 24 upper floors and some four basement floors. On the other hand, it lies on a cladding structure above the railway tracks at Wien Mitte station . The total usable area of the building is 28,901 m² (including garages). The building was built according to the designs of the architectural office O&O Baukunst .

use

After around two years of construction, the building was handed over to the Federal Ministry of Justice in September 2003 . The District Court of Inner City Vienna , the District Court for Commercial Matters Vienna and the Commercial Court Vienna , which have been relocated from the Riemergasse court building, are housed in the City Tower . The owner is Immofinanz AG . The move of the courts from the federal office building or the relocation to the rented new building was criticized both in the media and in the context of parliamentary inquiries .
