Richard Broadbent

Sir Richard John Broadbent KCB (born April 22, 1953 in Cambridge ) is a British businessman, today the chairman of the international retail chain Tesco plc .

He graduated from Queen Mary, University of London and received an MA from Manchester University .

In 1975 he joined the HM Treasury . He spent 10 years there, and in 1986 he switched to the Schroders investment bank . In 2003 he became a Knight Commander of the Order of the Bath in the knighthood raised, and leads since then the suffix "Sir". He was appointed to the Board of Tesco plc in July 2011.

He lives in London with his wife.
