Richard C. Kahn
Richard C. Kahn (born January 26, 1897 in New Orleans , Louisiana , † January 28, 1960 in Hollywood , California ) was an American film director , producer and screenwriter .
Life
Richard C. Kahn began his film career in the 1930s. His debut film as a director was the western The Secret Menace (1931), for which he also wrote the screenplay. His film The Third Sex , released in 1934, was also his first film as a producer. In the late 1930s and early 1940s he made a name for himself as a director of various race films such as Son of Ingagi (1940) and various westerns. He often worked with Spencer Williams , a black actor who starred in various Singing Cowboys films and who would later work as a director himself.
In 1955 he directed an episode of the famous country show Grand Ole Opry and in 1958, two episodes of the television series Sky King followed .
Kahn died in 1960 shortly after his 63rd birthday.
