Richard Chassot (born January 18, 1970 in Villars-sur-Glâne ) is a former Swiss cyclist . From 2012 to 2013 he was President of the Swiss Cycling Association .

Richard Chassot was active as a cyclist from 1994 to 1999. After retiring from active cycling, he worked as a co-commentator for Swiss television for the Tour de France and as director of the Tour de Romandie .

In March 2012 Chassot was elected the new President of Swiss Cycling . In August 2013 he resigned from this office with immediate effect after there had been disagreements in the association over the renewed nomination of Pat McQuaid as President of the World Cycling Federation Union Cycliste Internationale . After Swiss Cycling had originally proposed its candidacy, this nomination had apparently been withdrawn by the Presidium against the will of Chassot.
