Richard Gorizia

Richard Görz (born March 6, 1811 in Bleidenstadt ; † November 26, 1880 in Wiesbaden ) was a German architect and Nassau and Prussian construction clerk , who mainly worked in the Wiesbaden area.

Life

Richard Görz, son of a ducal Nassau bailiff, settled in Wiesbaden soon after completing the Nassau state examination (1830) and initially worked from 1835 to 1840 as an accessist for the Wiesbaden building district, which he headed as a master builder from 1840 . From 1837 to 1841 (from 1840 as court architect ) he was the construction manager at Wiesbaden Castle. From 1860 to 1863 he built the Nassauische Landesbank and the justice building in Wiesbaden. In numerous functions and commissions he was promoted to senior building officer in 1864 and was accepted into the Prussian civil service in 1866. In 1868 he received the title of Privy Councilor . The following year he retired, which he dedicated to studying the monuments of the Lahn area.
