Richard Gebert

Richard Gebert (born October 8, 1939 in Mannersdorf am Leithagebirge ) is a former Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and community secretary. Gebert was a member of the Austrian National Council from 1992 to 1994 and a member of the Lower Austrian Landtag from 1995 to 2002 .

After attending compulsory school and business school, Gebert worked as a commercial clerk and from 1959 to 1964 as the state secretary of the Socialist Youth of Lower Austria. From 1964 to 1968 he was the association secretary of the Socialist Youth of Austria and from 1968 to 1972 managing director of the Austrian Youth Hostel Association . He then worked as a community secretary in Schwadorf .

Gebert was elected mayor of the market town of Schwadorf in 1967, where he held office until 2008. Within the party, he was also a member of the district executive committee of the SPÖ Schwechat from 1985 and from 1991 executive district chairman of the SPÖ Schwechat. Between February 26, 1992 and November 6, 1994 he represented the SPÖ in the National Council, after which he was a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament from April 26, 1995 to November 7, 2002.
