Richard Gray, 6th Earl Gray

Richard Fleming George Charles Gray, 6th Earl Gray (born March 4, 1939 in Slough , Berkshire , † September 10, 2013 ) was a British nobleman.

Life

Gray was the older son of Albert Gray and Vera Harding. His great-great-grandfather Admiral George Gray was the fourth son of Charles Gray, 2nd Earl Gray . The father fell in World War II when Gray was three years old. He attended Hounslow College and studied at Hammersmith College of Art and Building in London .

In 1963, Gray inherited the title of Earl Gray from his distant cousin Charles Gray, 5th Earl Gray . As such, he was a hereditary member of the House of Lords from 1963 to 1999 . Gray was married for the second time at the time of his death, after the first marriage was divorced. Both marriages remained childless. He died on September 10, 2013 after a brief illness. His successor as Earl Gray was his brother Philip Gray, born in 1940 .
