Richard Herbst

Richard Herbst (born July 9, 1867 in Bahrendorf , † after 1920) was a German politician ( SPD , USPD ).

After attending elementary school , Herbst completed an apprenticeship as a locksmith from 1881 to 1885. Around 1885 he joined the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD). During the First World War he left the SPD and became a member of the Independent Social Democratic Party of Germany (USPD).

On November 20, 1919, Herbst moved into the Weimar National Assembly as a replacement for the late MP Hugo Haase , in which he represented constituency 3 (Berlin) until the first Reichstag of the Weimar Republic met in June 1920. He was also a member of the city council of Bahrendorf.
