Richard Hoyt
Richard Duane Hoyt (* 1941 in Hermiston , Oregon , USA ) is an American writer . He sometimes writes under the pseudonym Nicholas van Pelt .

Richard Hoyt studied journalism and American studies in Oregon and Hawaii . After receiving his doctorate in literature from the University of Hawaii , Hoyt worked in counter-espionage in the US Army. Following his service in the military, he earned his living as a journalist for a few years. Eventually he taught journalism and media studies at several colleges. Richard Hoyt lives with his wife and daughter in the Philippines .
