Richie Allen

Richie Allen (actually Richard Podolor ; * 1940 in California ) is a former American surf sound musician from the 1960s.

As a guitarist, Allen was above all a busy session musician on the southern California surf music scene, who was involved in many recordings for producer Gary Usher in particular. a. on Sandy Nelson's Teen Beat . He released some recordings under his own name (with his "backing band" The Pacific Surfers ), but returned to Sessions after only moderate success. Only his single Stranger From Durango was able to place in the US singles charts.

Towards the end of the decade, Allen, now under his birth name Podolor , concentrated on producing, including Iron Butterfly , Steppenwolf and Three Dog Night .
