Richard Wallace (computer scientist)

Richard S. Wallace (* 1960 in Portland , Maine ) is the CEO and co-founder of ALICE (Artificial Linguistic Internet Computer Entity).

Wallace graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a degree in Computer Science in 1989 . Today he lives in San Francisco .

Wallace has bipolar disorder . He was dismissed from New York University in the early 1990s, and sees his illness as a reason for dismissal.

Wallace won the bronze medal of the Loebner Prize with ALICE in 2000, 2001 and 2004 .
