Richard Wolf (politician, 1888)

Richard Wolf (born January 3, 1888 in Neuhaus am Klausenbach , † March 19, 1953 in Graz ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and city school councilor. He was a member of the Austrian National Council and member of the Styrian Landtag .

Life

Wolf passed the Matura in 1907 and graduated from the teacher training college in Graz. He worked as a country teacher and in 1919 became a secondary school teacher in Graz. Due to his political commitment, Wolf was dismissed from school service and retired in 1934, and in 1939 he was employed again as a secondary school teacher. He subsequently became principal school director and later city school council.

Wolf joined the Social Democratic Party in 1917 and was active as a chairman of the Free Teachers' Union. He was a member of the Styrian Landtag from 1921 to 1934 and represented the SPÖ in the National Council between December 19, 1945 and November 8, 1949.
