Richtungsding is a contemporary literature magazine based in the Ruhr area . It has been published since 2010 and has set itself the goal of offering unknown authors, especially from the Ruhr area, publication opportunities. The indicator is a black arrow on a white background.
The six editions to date have brought together text contributions from around 80 authors from Germany, Russia, Montenegro, Austria and Switzerland. In addition to the publication activity, Richtungsding organizes readings at irregular intervals. For each issue's premiere, the editorial team invites you to a major premiere reading in the Mülheim an der Ruhr Ringlokschuppen and awards an audience award of the same name.
Emergence
Richtungsding was founded by Harald Gerhäußer and Jan-Paul Laarmann in 2010 on the occasion of the cultural capital year in the Ruhr area in Mülheim an der Ruhr. The editors met Jochen Gerz as part of the 2-3 streets project. [2] Laarmann previously belonged to the literary group " Dichtungsring " founded at the University of Duisburg-Essen . Together with Gerhäußer, the idea arose to found a magazine "[u] nterhalb des radar der Feuilletons" [3] in the literarily underrepresented Ruhr area. The name "Richtungsding" is said to have originated from the slip of the tongue by an author of the first edition.
concept
Direction thing explains the "lack of concept to the concept", the magazine Coolibri quotes Jan-Paul Laarmann. It is about “offering a platform, a forum for the many writers who (still) live and work far from professionalism. There is no salon where you can exchange ideas. Perhaps the directional thing is a kind of new salon idea. "Harald Gerhäußer says in the same interview that the directional thing has" taken over the basic idea of the sealing ring: discuss and criticize each other in order to advance each other. It's not just about publishing, it's about getting feedback ”. In an interview that he gave to the ORF literary program “Erlesen” in 2011, Laarmann explained the concept / non-concept of the magazine in more detail.
