Life

In 2013, Ridhima Pandey witnessed the flooding of Haridwar in the state of Uttarakhand , which started her interest in climate protection.

At the age of nine, Ridhima Pandey filed a lawsuit with the National Green Tribunal in India demanding measures to reduce CO 2 emissions.

On September 23, 2019, Ridhima Pandey and 15 other young people between the ages of 8 and 17 from different countries, including Greta Thunberg , filed a complaint with the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child . They accuse the states of Argentina , Brazil , France , Germany and Turkey of violating the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child because they are not paying enough attention to reducing greenhouse gas emissions . The children call on the committee to view the climate crisis as a children's rights crisis and to call on states to adhere to the Paris Agreement . It is currently being examined whether the complaint is admissible.
