history
The rural community of Oberötzdorf was founded in 1818 by the Bavarian community edict with Spechting as the community seat. Places in the municipality were Brunnreut, Friedlgrub, Gotting, Grögöd, Grub, Habersdorf, Hinterkühberg, Hintersäg (canceled), Hochwiesel, Kagerreut, Kappelgarten, Kinzesberg, Knittlmühle, Kroding, Kühberg, Neureuth, Oberötzdorf, Oberreut, Ochsenreut, Paulusberg, Pfaffenreut, Ratzing, Schreinerhäusl, Steinbüchl, Unterötzdorf and Unterreut. As part of the regional reform in Bavaria , the municipality was dissolved with effect from March 1, 1972 and incorporated into the market town of Untergriesbach
