The Riedelmühle is a former cutting and sawmill in today's Altenberg district of Waldbärenburg in the Ore Mountains .

Geographical location

The Riedelmühle is located on the Rote Weißeritz between the Schellermühle and the Schäfermühle, which both belonged to Schellerhau .

history

The Riedelmühle was built in 1855 as a half-timbered building with a solid ground floor and served as a mill for the small town of Bärenburg for over 50 years, until it was converted into an inn after 1905, as it was located directly on the main road frequented by numerous travelers from Dresden to the Eastern Ore Mountains has been. The street inn quickly became an excursion destination. After several changes of ownership, the HO took over the restaurant. As such, it was reopened on January 19, 1990 under private management. A house extension and the conversion of the old mill building into a hotel have also offered overnight accommodation since October 8, 1993.
