Riedheim (Leipheim)
Riedheim is a district of Leipheim in the Swabian district of Günzburg ( Bavaria ). On January 1, 1971, the previously independent municipality of Riedheim was incorporated into Leipheim.
geography
The parish village is about two kilometers northwest of Leipheim and can be reached via the district road GZ 4. The in Donauried located Angersdorf is from the Nau traversed.
history
Riedheim was first mentioned in a document in 1292. The Lords of Riedheim left their ancestral home at the castle in Riedheim as early as the 13th century. As a fiefdom of the Margraviate of Burgau , the place came into the possession of the Gessler patrician family in Ulm in 1400 , shortly afterwards to the Lords of Hasberg zu Waldkirch. Finally around 1459 Riedheim came to the Argon / Egen patrician family from Augsburg. In 1501 the place came to the imperial city of Ulm, where it remained until 1802.
