The Rifugio Arbolle (also Rifugio Alpe Arbolle ) is a refuge in the Aosta Valley in the Graian Alps . It is located at an altitude of 2507  m within the municipality of Charvensod on the lake of the same name, Laghi di Arbolle . The hut, built in 1998 and opened in 1999, is used as a base for the ascent of Monte Emilius . The hut is privately managed from mid-June to early September and during this time offers 66 mountaineers sleeping places.

rise

The ascent to the hut begins in Pila, a district of Gressan at 1,790 m , which has developed into an important winter sports resort in the Aosta Valley over the past 40 years. From Pila the path leads to the Chamolé station at 2,331 m, which can also be reached by chairlift from Pila.

First it goes briefly horizontally in an easterly direction, where after a few minutes you reach Lake Chamolé. From there, the path leads across meadows south up the slope. After 50 minutes you cross the Col Chamolé pass, which is 2,641 m high. After a further 20 minutes you will reach the lower hut on steep terrain.

For the ascent of Chamolé, which does not show any technical difficulties, 1½ hours are estimated.
