Prinz is an impact crater on the northwestern front of the moon . It is located northeast of the prominent Aristarchus ray crater in the plain of Oceanus Procellarum .
The rim of the crater is largely flooded. Only the north-eastern part has been preserved. In the north is the ridge system of the Rimae Prinz . To the northeast lie the Montes Harbinger .

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the German-Belgian geologist and selenographer Wilhelm Prinz .
