Rinchen Gyeltshen (Imperial teacher, 1238)

Rinchen Gyeltshen (Tibetan Rin chen rgyal mtshan; Chinese  仁钦 坚赞 (亦 邻 真) , Pinyin Renqin Jianzan (Yilinzhen) ) (* 1238 ; † 1279 ) was a half-brother of Phagpa . From 1267 to 1275 he was head of the Sakya School of Tibetan Buddhism . From 1276 to 1279 he was the imperial teacher ( dishi / ti shri ) of the Mongol emperor Shizu ( Kublai Khan ). As Phagpa's successor, he was the second person in this post of the central government's highest monk official for Buddhist affairs.
