Rinkenbach was a Half- Rhode until 1814 and a Rhode in the canton of Appenzell Innerrhoden , Switzerland until 1872 .

Since the canton was divided on September 8, 1597, Rinkenbach was a half-Rhode and from 1814 on, together with Stechlenegg, formed the fifth of the inner Rhodes.

It was divided into the districts of Appenzell , Gonten and Schlatt-Haslen as part of a revision of the cantonal constitution in 1872 .
