Rinns of Shurdimires
The Rinns of Shurdimires are a row of stones in Crawton near Sandness on the Shetland island of Mainland in Scotland . They have been designated as a Scheduled Monument since 2012 and are therefore a listed building.
The Rinns of Shurdimires are in an area of homesteads, burial mounds and burnt mounds , overlooking Papa Stour Island to the northwest. The 17.0 m long row of stones consists of three rough menhirs (A, B and C) made of local gneiss . Stone A is located approximately 12 miles south of the Eshaness Cliffs.
- Stone A (the southernmost) measures 0.56 × 0.75 × 1.4 m
- Stone B measures 0.64 × 0.48 × 1.12 m
- Stone C (the northernmost) measures 0.69 × 0.46 × 0.74 m.
The Brochs of Brousta and Bay of Garth are nearby .
