Rino Galiano

Rino Galiano (born July 4, 1975 in Mannheim as Calogero Galiano) is a German theater actor and musician of Italian origin. As a child, Rino was able to gain his first acting experience in the well-known TV production Atlantis must not go under as Oli Schmid. With his appearance on The Voice of Germany in 2011, Rino Galiano achieved the national breakthrough in his career as a musician. With his artist father and friend Xavier Naidoo , he has repeatedly made it to the big stages in Germany over the past few years. In the band project Sing um dein Leben , Rino finally made it into the German album charts in 2012 with Sing um dein Leben - the album .

In the TV production Atlantis mustn't go under , Galiano played the boy Oli Schmid as the main character. The show was first broadcast in 1988 and had a total of 6 episodes. From 1994 Galiano played the recurring role of Max Becker in the crime series Schwarz interferes .

Galiano is also active as a stage actor. Among other things, he plays the eponymous revue star in the solo piece Die Große Elwa Tr'tcz - Das Comeback , which will be performed in the Mannheim music cabaret Schatzkistl in 2015. In 2007, he took on the role of transvestite Al Ucard in Theater am Puls in the grusical Freak o 'Clock . He portrayed “Eighty” and “Martin” in the 80s revue “I want fun” and in 2010 showed the solo program “Gino d'Italia” on the Lübeck Theater Ship.

Musical career

The Voice of Germany

In 2011 Galiano sang himself in the TV talent show The Voice of Germany . With Rino's first song You Give Me Something during the blind auditions, he won over the jury and chose the Xavier Naidoo team . In his first battle against Stefan Zielasko he won with the song Jesus to a child - George Michael and reached the next round. After the 3rd live show, Rino Galiano dropped out, but this did not prevent him from implementing many more projects with his new friend Xavier Naidoo.

Sing for your life

In the summer of 2012, jury member Naidoo recorded songs for an album together with participants from the first season of The Voice of Germany. 14 of the 17 singers from his own group were involved (finalists Max Giesinger as well as Elen Wendt and Laura Bellon were absent). One week before the start of the second season, on October 11, 2012, the songs were presented on Pro7 in a two-hour TV show hosted by Naidoo himself. Rea Garvey, Kool Savas, Timo Hildebrand, Cindy from Marzahn and Otto Waalkes were represented as guests. Then the album was released. It rose to number 7 in the German charts, three songs were able to place in the single charts. On July 5, 2013, the formation's second album was released with the title Es geht weiter…. This was also previously presented in a TV show with various guests.

The formation took part in the Bundesvision Song Contest 2013 for the state of Hesse on September 26, 2013 and came in 11th.
