The Rio Ronuro is one of the two headwaters of the Rio Xingu in the state of Mato Grosso in Brazil . It rises about 230 km northeast of the city of Cuiabá on the southern edge of the Amazon basin and initially flows mainly in a northerly direction. After reaching the Parque Indígena do Xingu , it turns to the northeast and finally forms the Rio Xingu together with the Rio Culuene . The last tributary, the Rio Batoví , flows only 1.3 km before this confluence.
