The Ripmen is a German psychobilly band that was formed in 1996 by Kubi ( double bass ), Rakow ( guitar ) and Wachi ( drums ).
history
After initial difficulties, the first concerts were played in the Berlin area and demo recordings were to be made. This did not happen because the wachi had a fatal accident in late 1999. Just three months later the drums were replaced with Gordian and the demo CD With Love from Beyond was recorded. Having been made aware of this demo, Crazy Love Records decided to release a full album. The album Party with the Dead was released in 2001 and received consistently good reviews.
The band toured more and more and wrote the songs for the second album Terror of the Beagle Boys , which was also released on Crazy Love Records in 2003. With the new long player in their luggage, the band toured the west coast of the USA for the first time in 2003. In 2004 a second tour followed, but for professional reasons it took place without Rakow. He was replaced by the guitarists of the American band "Dragstrip Demons". The third album was supposed to be recorded in 2005, but the recordings were delayed until 2006 due to internal problems.
Rakow left the band and was replaced at short notice by the guitarist Dennis, who only played five concerts with the band. The album Graveyard in our Memories was released in 2006 on the German punk label Wolverine Records and Rakow returned to the band after almost a year and a half. Since the band hadn't been heard from for a long time at this point, new recordings should be made. This was made easier by qualifying as part of the Berlin Senate Rock Competition. For about half a year we worked intensively on new material, which was recorded in October 2007. Shortly after the recordings, however, the band split from Gordian, which again led to a setback. Gordian was spontaneously replaced by Heske in May 2008.
